CIS Ministries of Internal Affairs to create common information space

SAINT-PETERSBURG. June 24. KAZINFORM /Yelena Myagkova/ - At the sitting of the Council of the CIS Ministers of Internal Affairs in Yalta, Ukraine it was decided to create a common comprehensive system of access to the communication channels and resources for the purpose of a single information space of the internal affairs agencies of the CIS member countries. The new system will be compatible with the information communication system of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the CIS Executive Committee press service said to Kazinform.

As a result of discussion of the issue of joint preventive measures against any new forms of crimes in information technologies the Internal Ministries of the member countries in partnership with the Russian Internal Ministry will go into the issue of creation of national contact points within the 24/t network under the G8 aegis.

The Ministers exchanged opinions about the operational environment in the CIS member countries, emerging problems, the priority directions of the fight against crime and the progress of the joint programs execution.
The members of the Council approved the concept of the draft agreement on the fight against human trafficking and requested the Russian Internal Ministry to refine the document based on the proposals and recommendations.

The Council approved the candidacy of Major General of Justice M. Orazaliyev for the position of first deputy director of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center proposed by Kazakhstan's Internal Ministry, and introduced it for consideration of the Council of security chiefs and special agencies.

The next sitting is to take place in July/August, 2010 in Kyrgyzstan.
