CIS member states to discuss Cooperation plan in field of education

MINSK. January 21. KAZINFORM /Aituar Mamlin/ The CIS Council on Cooperation in the field of education will hold a session in Minsk. The draft Top-Priority Action Plan on cooperation in the education field for the mid-term will be discussed at the session, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

The session scheduled for January 24 will be the first meeting of the working group consisting of representatives of the Ministries of Education and related organizations. Proposals to the Plan submitted by Belarus, Moldova and higher educational institutions of the CIS member states will be considered at the meeting. These are announcement of 2012 the Year of Sport and Healthy Lifestyle in the CIS, holding of the first International Youth Environmental School "Ecology of the Commonwealth", CIS Teachers' Congress, establishment of the Association of Experimental and Innovative Schools, Center for Literary Translations of the CIS member states, etc.

The education sphere is one of the bases of humanitarian cooperation between the CIS member states. All Commonwealth countries are interested in establishment of common educational space. In this regard, the issues of cooperation in the field of education were outlined in the main documents of the CIS - the CIS Further Development concept and the CIS Economic Development strategy till 2020.
