CIS likely to establish Fund for liquidation of emergency situations

As the press service of the CIS Executive Committee informs, the conference participants expressed solidarity with the Russian nation and also expressed condolences upon death of many people. Rescuers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are fighting with fire in Russian territory at present.

The press service notes that the CIS observes today close and fruitful cooperation of the member countries ministries and departments in work of the Interstate Council on Natural and Man Made Emergencies, the Interstate Council on Hydrometeorology, the Interstate Council on Industrial Safety and the Interstate Ecological Council.

Such interaction pursues just one goal - protection of the population and economy of Commonwealth from natural disasters, man made accidents and catastrophes and other emergencies.

The participants proposed to improve regulatory-legal base of the Commonwealth in elimination of fire dangerous situation, activate work of sectoral bodies and their secretariats and to establish a special fund for timely liquidation of various emergency situations. They also suggested discussing the issue of immediate response to emergencies at one of the sessions of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the CIS.
