CIS IPA ready to consult members of Kyrgyz interim government on legal issues

SAINT PETERSBURG. May 13. KAZINFORM /Yelena Myagkova/ Experts of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly are ready to provide legal consultations for the members of the Kyrgyz interim government, Secretary General of the Council Mikhail Krotov said at a press conference.

"When the CIS countries face such problem the Interparliamentary Assembly can not stand aside", he said.

In Krotov's opinion, the situation in Kyrgyzstan is quite complicated now. Adoption of a new constitution is the major task of the interim government, he considers. "There is a prevailing view that Kyrgyzstan must be a parliamentary republic while the president will only fulfill the functions of notary and sign the laws", M. Krotov explained.
