CIS Informal Summit held in Moscow

MOSCOW. May 9. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ Modernization of national economies, scientific and humanitarian cooperation are priorities of interaction between the CIS member states. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev made it public opening the CIS Informal Summit in Moscow on May 8.

As earlier reported, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev as well as the Heads of Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan took part in the Summit.

"Our countries are set the task on modernization of the economies. The CIS platform is a convenient mean for cooperation", D.Medvedev said.

He also noted that the humanitarian cooperation between our states is not least important as well.

The Russian President also welcomed new participant of the Summit - Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych noting that all CIS member states are ready for close interaction with Ukraine in order to strengthen the potential of the Organization.
