CIS aggregate GDP in 2010 to grow 1.7% - UN experts

ASTANA. February 11. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ In accordance with the forecast of the UN annual report World Economic Situation and Prospects for 2010 the aggregate GDP of the Commonwealth countries in 2010 is expected to grow by 1.7%.

"Having experienced sharp economic decline from 6.7% in 2009 the CIS expects 1.7% economic growth in 2010 in total", the report reads.

According to the UN experts, the economies of the CIS will recover in 2010 due to growth in global demand and better financial conditions.

According to preliminary estimates Kazakhstan's GDP rose 1.1% in 2009.
