CIS accomplishments over past 20 years to be discussed in Dushanbe

NSK. August 18. KAZINFORM /Aituar Mamlin/ The Council of the CIS Foreign Ministers will consider the activities of the Commonwealth in various fields of international cooperation on September 2 in Dushanbe; Kazinform has learnt from the CIS Executive Committee.

The key matter on the agenda will be the analysis report "CIS accomplishments over the past 20 years and future tasks". It is also planned to discuss a draft statement of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council "On ensuring the complementary and mutually beneficial nature of the development of integration processes". The document notes the increasing role of regional structures in world politics and economy and strengthening of integration trends in various regions of the world, including the vast Eurasian space.

In the field of humanitarian cooperation the Council will debate a draft agreement on the immortalization of the courage and heroism the CIS member nations demonstrated during the Great Patriotic War, and a draft concept of coordinated social and demographic policy of the CIS member states.

In addition, it is planned to discuss cooperation in combating illegal migration, matters concerning the logistical assistance for the agencies in charge of fighting terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism, the training of specialists for antiterrorism agencies.
