Circulatory disease mortality decreased by 20 percent last year -Kazakh Health Minister

ASTANA. February 20. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakhstan Health Minister Salidat Kairbekova informing about the results of implementation the state program "Salamatty Kazakhstan" said mortality rate from circulatory diseases decreased by 20 percent in Kazakhstan in 2011.
New technologies were introduced into cardiovascular disease treatment. Above 8 thousand of cardiac surgeries were made in 2011, of them 6.5 thousand were open heart surgeries. According to the instruction of the Head of State, the National Scientific Cardiac Surgery Center was opened in Astana in line with international standards. 600 people, including 119 children underwent surgeries there, the Minister noted.
