CICA Third Summit of Heads of States and Governments to be historical event - N.Yermekbayev

The issues of preparation and holding the CICA Third Summit of Heads of States and Governments, which will be held in Istanbul on June 7-9, 2010, were discussed. The Turkish delegation has announced the official date today.

According to N.Yermekbayev, the session was aimed at preparing documents and organizational issues to the upcoming CICA Summit. "It is expected that it will be very important historical event, because this year Kazakhstan chairs the OSCE and chairs the CICA till the Summit. The Summit will be a platform for dialogue between Europe and Asia and will allow to promote confidence-building measures in Asia. It will allow to promote measures on strengthening security and development of cooperation in Asia", he said.

There was approved the Action Plan and Concept on Cooperation in the sphere of IT, exchange of opinions in the sphere of business at the last session.

The Azerbaijani delegation announced its readiness to hold the next session in Baku in March 2010 and Thailand's one - to hold a business forum of the CICA member states in Bangkok in September 2010.
