Cholera outbreak spreads to 13 provinces in Vietnam

HANOI. May 20. KAZINFORM Vietnam confirmed more cholera cases in two other provinces, raising the number of localities hit by the disease in the north of the country to 13, the local newspaper Young People reported Wednesday, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The two newly-confirmed northern provinces of Vietnam, Hung Yenand Vinh Phuc, had reported cases of vibrio cholera, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Health. Since the cholera epidemic broke out in Vietnam, there have been 628 people suffering from the acute diarrhea, of which 56 tested positive for the vibrio cholera bacteria, said the ministry. The ministry warned the country of high risk of an acute diarrhea outbreak in many other provinces of Vietnam in coming days, Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.chinaview.cn for full version.
