Chinese Defense Minister hails Kazakhstan's role in strengthening regional security

Minister Akhmetov lauded successful partnership between the ministries in military education and holding of joint drills. He also expressed gratitude to China for active participation in the international exhibition KADEX-2014 that had been held in Astana in May. Chang Wanquan noted Kazakhstan's contribution to strengthening regional security and spoke in favor of further expansion of military and military-technical cooperation. As for interaction within SCO and CICA, the Chinese Defense Minister thanked his colleague for participation of the Kazakh armed forces in Peace Mission-2014 exercises at Zhurihe training base. At the meeting, the sides also touched upon further strengthening of partnership between the ministries. In conclusion, Minister Akhmetov invited his counterpart to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.
