China's largest railway company looking for new forms of cooperation with Kazakhstan

Earlier «Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive» supplied locomotives to the national company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy". The collaboration began in December 2001. For 10 years the Chinese company has exported 27 electric locomotives to Kazakhstan, which, according to Mr. Ho Enguan, are successfully running between Astana and Almaty.

He described Kazakhstan as a reliable partner and expressed desire to continue cooperation in the other direction.

"The company intends to hold talks with Kazakhstan to further mutual activities. We are looking for new forms of cooperation, such as investment in joint projects and others. For example, we have a good experience with Malaysia, where the factory was opened for repair and maintenance of electric locomotives. I am sure that we will find common ground", he stressed.

NOTE: In December 2012 the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev launched the plant for production of electric locomotives in Astana. More than KZT 18 billion have been invested into the implementation of the project. The company is a joint project of Kazakhstan, France and Russia.

Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive is the Chinese engineering company. It is a subsidiary of China South Locomotive Corporation (the second largest railway corporation in China). The headquarters is located in Zhuzhou, Hunan.
