China respects South Sudan referendum results - Chinese MFA

BEIJING. February 8. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ "Due to the joint efforts of the north and the south the referendum in South Sudan was held successfully. Recently the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission has announced the final results of the referendum. China respects the results of the referendum in South Sudan" Chinese MFA Spokesperson Hong Lei said Tuesday.
According to the Chinese Diplomat, China respects the aspiration and choice of the people of Sudan and appreciates the unremitting efforts of both the south and the north in promotion of the peaceful process. "The People's Republic of China hopes that the sides will continue taking efforts to resolve the problems through a consultation and a dialogue, implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement on the ground of mutual understanding and concession in order to protect peace and stability in the country", Hong Lei noted.
