China & Kazakhstan to built small-scale hydropower plant in E Kazakhstan

UST-KAMENOGORSK. January 16. KAZINFORM - Cooperation with China opens new possibilities for Urdzharsky district of East Kazakhstan region.
Negotiations are being conduct with the Chinese company «HYDROCHINA CORPORATION» about building a small-scale hydropower plant on the Karakol river.
Project documentation has already been sent for examination. It was estimated that the construction of water reservoir on the river will allow to use additional 10 thousand hectares of irrigated land.
The project is one of the directions on alternative energy sources development. It is important to note that despite the presence of multiple sources of energy production in East Kazakhstan the lack of capacity reaches 2 billion kW / h.
