China eager to cooperate with Kazakhstan in transnational crime fight

BEIJING. May 31. KAZINFORM - China is ready to collaborate with Kazakhstan on the rule of legitimacy in the field of trade and economic relations between the two countries. This was announced by Cao Jianmin, the China's Supreme People's Prosecutor, on May 30, in Beijing during the meeting with Askhat Daulbayev, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan.

As noted by Cao Jianmin with the expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries it is necessary to strengthen practical cooperation amongst the supervisory authorities of China and Kazakhstan. "Despite the fact that we have different legal and judicial system, we have similar objectives in the field of fighting against transnational crime", said the Supreme People's Prosecutor of China.

"We are ready to work with Kazakhstan and to strengthen bilateral supervisory cooperation in combating transnational crime, maintaining regional stability, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, promotion of trade and economic development between our countries", said Cao Jianmin.

We are reminding that A.Daulbayev, the Attorney General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is visiting China May 30-31. Earlier Daulbayev met with the Minister of Justice Wu Ayyn.

The appointment with the head of the Chinese Ministry of Justice had a separate topic of discussing the issues of convicted defendant transfer. The Parties agreed to accelerate the process of ratification of the Treaty on the transfer of convicted persons which was concluded in February 2011. The signing of this document is up to date as currently 20 Chinese citizens are serving sentences in Kazakhstan and 15 citizens of Kazakhstan - in China.

Today A.Daulbayev has arrived in Shanghai with working visit where the business meeting with the leadership of the prosecutor's office and a visit to the Chinese metropolis of operational management of the Central Prosecutor's Office Shanghai are scheduled.
