Chemicalization of farming - key point in 2010-2014 State program on agro-industrial development

ANA. July 8. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Chemicalization of farming is to become a key point in the 2010-2014 State program on agro-industrial complex development. Minister of Agriculture Akhylbek Kurishbayev has made it public during the international conference on agriculture in Astana today, Kazinform reports.
"At present we are working on elaboration of the State Program on agro-industrial complex development for 2010-2014. The state intends to support and stimulate development of corn farming, first of all. In this connection the program will be focused on chemicalization of farming, it means sponsoring the projects and use of mineral fertilizers as it is done in the developed countries and transition to moisture-saving technologies", A. Kurishbayev said.
"These measures will allow us increasing average yield from 10 up 12 centners from a hectare. In prospect, this index can be raised to 15 centners if the technologies are used", the Minister added.
