Charles Michel chosen as new Belgian PM

BRUSSELS. KAZINFORM - After 28 hours of non-stop negotiations, the four parties responsible for forming a new Belgian federal government have reached Tuesday evening an agreement in which Charles Michel is proposed as the prime minister.

Michel, Reformer Movement (MR), and Kris Peeters, Flemish Christian Democrats (CD&V), will on Wednesday submit their report to King Philippe who will appoint Michel as the prime minister, Kazinform refers to Shanghai Daily .

According to the declaration of Michel on television, he will present his government to the king on Monday while taking oath as prime minister. Then, the new prime minister will make his statement before the House of Representatives on Oct. 14. MR, on the French side, CD&V, the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) and Open VLD (Flemish Liberals) were negotiating the formation of a new government since the elections on May 25, 2014.
