Central Asian economic, environmental problems discussed at Trans-Asian Forum

KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Summing up the results of the first session of the second day of the Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum "The OSCE Eurasian Dimension" SCO Secretary General Muratbek Imanaliyev said that all participating delegations and representatives of international organizations reaffirmed their commitment to the need to improve and develop the economic situation in Central-Asian region.
He called it an important component in the work of all states and international organizations including the SCO. Speaking about the issue of water resources that is of great significance for the region the diplomat stressed that it was necessary to separate the problem of water from the problems of energy, economic and political problems and at the same time to take into account the environmental aspect. "This is a very fine line that is sometimes difficult to keep", M. Imanaliyev emphasized. He noted the necessity to solve such problems at the negotiating table and only in terms of mutual interests.
The session was devoted to the issues of economic development, trade, resource management and environment.
