Central Asia's tallest building in Astana may set Guinness record

"This will be a mixed-use residential compound overlooking the Baiterek monument and observation tower," said Mr. Abubaker Seddiq Al Khoori, Chairman of the Board of Aldar Properties PJSC, the development company for the project. "The 320-meter Abu Dhabi Plaza may set the Guinness record as the tallest building in Central Asia". Vice Prime Minister -Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev, in turn, elaborated that the project will be one of the most hi tech facilities in the CIS and Eastern Europe. "The Abu Dhabi Plaza complex at more than 300 meters and with 88 above-ground floors is being constructed in line with today's energy saving standards and is one of the most innovative projects in the Kazakh capital ahead of the EXPO event," he added at the presentation of the project in Astana. NOTE: Abu Dhabi Plaza in Astana is due to be completed by late 2016 - early 2017 and presented right before the EXPO-2017. The grand project is worth $1.6 billion.
