Celebration of Nowruz in Kazakhstan is diversity and spirit of spring

In Kostanay there was a fair on March 19 to mark the celebration of Nowruz, which was attended by 120 local producers of agricultural goods from the regional center and the districts. The fair attracted visitors by the low prices on products, by 20-30 percent below the current market. The festive mood of trade has been supported by artists' performances.

On the same day in Astana there was held an exhibition of contemporary art called "Golden Collection of names" devoted to the holiday "Nowruz", organized in collaboration of the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art and the Karaganda oblast museum of fine art. The exhibition features 52 works created from 1930 to 2012. In the capital there was also a unique light show, which will take place every night until April 1.

In Karaganda, March 20 there were celebrations of Nowruz, many activities focused on educational nature. In schools of the region there opened lessons of friendship, peace and harmony. In the institutions there were also festivals and competitions, dedicated to Nowruz. In the regional historical museum there hosted a theatrical ethnographic festival called "Nowruz toiy - dәstүrlі Mereke" for the schools and colleges of Karaganda. In Karaganda, the regional competition-festival "Kүy қaynary" was also held among the artists of kyui (national competitions with dombra) and the collectives with national instruments on the city stage.

In akimat Aktobe on March 20 there was a commemoration of women having many children, having been awarded the state awards under the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan March 4, 2013. Four mothers of large families were given pendant ornaments "Altyn Alka" (gold medal) and five women - "Kumis alka" (silver medal).
Kazakhstan Embassy in Turkey March 20 conducted the Nowruz celebrations. For the event have been invited the heads of state agencies in Turkey, members of Parliament, ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, representatives of culture and arts, public, and academic circles.

In Aktau March 20 in "Daisy" pre-school teaching and educational center called, the only kindergarten in Kazakhstan, where there is a Little Assembly of Kazakhstani nations called "Sprout" there was a festive presentation. The event had been called "Under the united shanyrak" (roof). Children and guests enjoyed patriotic events on friendship, brotherhood of peoples meeting Nowruz.

In Atyrau, on the eve of Nowruz the female of the police had competed in the contest called "The girl is personification of beauty." The contestants made assembly-disassembly of military weapons, competed in the culinary creativity, in the ability to beautifully and intelligently express thoughts, to sing and dance. The participants also have demonstrated what excellent hostesses they are submitting to the jury the results of homework.

On March 21 in Almaty has been arranged a charity dinner for the disabled people. The mood of the holiday, spring and ease enabled people with disabilities to gain a positive attitude and feel the bright colors of the coming spring, feeingl cared for by the society.

On the first day of Taldykorgan Nowruz holiday the elderly people have been given presents. It is celebrated here in a big way, on three streets of the city there were installed "white-winged yurts", where anyone could taste the koumiss (mare's milk) and Nowruz kozhe (Kazakh special milky soup). Beautiful women in bright costumes delight the guests with folk dances. In the recreation park in honor of the holiday there was a planting of trees and flowers.

In Shymkent this day the representatives of national cultural centers held the exhibition of local food and craft in Independence Park. On the table of the Uzbek cultural center there was a special meal called "sumalak." It is cooked once a year on the eve of Nowruz.

In Ust-Kamenogorsk there has been built a youth yurt, which will be present not only Kazakh national culture, but also contemporary popular forms of street art. Exhibitions of clothing have been organized with different types of baking national cuisine. Especially for the talented young people there will be held a karaoke contest with the performance of the Kazakh songs.

The main events for the celebration of Nowruz will be conducted today, March 22, in all the towns and villages of the country.
