Cattle worth $400.000 stolen in Akmola rgn

On the outskirts of the town of Stepnogorsk police stopped KamAz truck driven by a citizen of Bestobe village. On the bed of the truck police officers have found 20 beef carcasses of "Hereford" and "Angus" breeds. The driver could not provide accompanying papers. Therefore, police contacted the district and town departments of the Interior. It was found that a company located in Enbekshilder district reported to police on the theft of 96 cows of "Hereford" and "Angus" breeds, which took place on 15 October. The cost of the stolen cattle reportedly amounted to KZT 69 million (approx. USD 400.000). In the course of search operations, police found an abandoned barn with 58 heads of cattle and 41 beef carcasses inside. On suspicion of committing the cattle theft two residents of Karasu village, Pavlodar region, were detained. Criminal case has been initiated under the Article 175 Part 4 of the Criminal Code.
