ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The cash outflow from the banks in Kazakhstan after the SMS-attacks in February this year amounted to 250 billion tenge, said Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov during the press conference in Astana on Wednesday.
About 40% of the taken money came back to the bank accounts, Kelimbetov added. "The cash outflow amounted to 250 billion tenge, and 100 billion tenge were already returned in less than 2 months," he said.
He believes that the money taken from the bank accounts will soon return since "it is unwise to keep such a big money at home", AKI Press cited. He also hopes that the problems caused by false SMS texts on some banks' bankruptcy will be fully resolved soon.
