Capsule-laying ceremony for light rail tram in Astana planned for July 1

ASTANA. June 3. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ The ceremony of laying a capsule in place of the future construction of a light rail tram in Astana is scheduled for the 1st of July, Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the enlarged meeting on the development of the capital of Kazakhstan on Friday.
According to him, KZT 5 billion was allocated to develop design and construction documents and start construction. "The first 16.4 kilometers of the light rail system, which includes nine stations, is scheduled for completion on December 1, 2013," added the Mayor.
