ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Tennis player Mikhail Kukushkin from Kazakhstan has struggled in the first match of the 2014 Rome Masters in Italy, Kazinform has learnt from Sports.kz.
Nonetheless, the 26-year-old Kazakhstani managed to wear down resistance of his opponent João Sousa from Portugal in three sets 6:3, 6:7, 6:3.
In the second round Kukushkin will face one of the toughest rivals so far world's №5 Spaniard David Ferrer.
