Business sector accounts for 60% of Astana's economy

ASTANA. October 13. KAZINFORM Today, the business sector accounts for 60 percent in the capital's economy, Mayor of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov stated at the meeting on the development of Astana on Saturday.
"The number of registered small businesses as of the beginning of September this year amounted to 40 000 751 units, which is 5.7% higher than in 2011," said I. Tasmagambetov.
According to him, the volume of goods manufactured by small and medium-sized businesses in January - August of this year compared to the same period of the last year increased by 0.1 percent and made over 608 billion tenge.
"If in 2007 the business sector involved 128,000 people, today they number 158,000," concluded the Mayor.
