Bus collision in Afghanistan 'kills 50'

KABUL. September 14. KAZINFORM At least 50 people have been killed and six injured after a bus collided with a fuel tanker in the eastern Afghan province of Ghazni, officials say.
Both vehicles were engulfed in flames after the collision and reports say many victims were too badly burned to be identified.
According to BBC, the crash took place in the Abband district on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
It is not known what caused the crash but road accidents in Afghanistan are common.
Most such accidents are blamed on bad roads, unsafe vehicles and poor driving.
"When you see the bodies, some of them are not recognisable," Gen Zarawar Zahid, the provincial police chief, told the AFP news agency.
He said that police and soldiers were still removing those killed from the wreckage.
It is not clear who the fuel tanker belongs to. Ghazni lies on the main Afghan supply route for Nato goods.
