Burden of Customs Procedures GCI ranking moves up Kazakhstan to 25 points

ASTANA. July 25. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan, according to the latest report of GCI («Global Competitiveness Index") for 2012-2013 by the indicator "The burden of customs procedures", has improved compared to last year by 25 points, finishing in 77th place, announced the deputy chairman of the Customs Control Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of Finance Igor Ten.

This is stated on the official website of the Prime Minister (www.primeminister.kz).

According to Igor Ten, these results have been achieved through introduction in 2012 of the prior information, which means getting information about transported goods by Customs in advance of import cargo.

In addition, since 1 January 2013 in a pilot mode was introduced electronic declaration of exports. Paperless customs declaration reduces the time of customs clearance, it reduces costs of exporters, and it allows filing in a declaration from any place without physical presence of the declarant at the office, which eliminates the risk of corruption. Full adoption of the electronic customs regime is planned for 2014, which will greatly enhance the country's status in the international arena and will accelerate the entry in the 30 developed countries.
