BRUSSELS. May 10. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ Yesterday representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Brussels held a wreath-laying ceremony at the monuments to the Soviet soldiers who died for the liberation of Belgium and the Belgian citizens - members of the Belgian Resistance.
Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of Kazakhstan's Mission to the European Union and NATO Yerik Utembayev as well as military representatives of the Kazakh Ministry of Defense under the NATO Headquarters laid wreath.
"We were witnesses of the fact that Belgium's Government, which highly estimates contribution of the Soviet people to the victory, took an active part in the event. Their presence demonstrates that we have the common history, common origins and common memory. We have a serious dialogue with the Belgian authorities, which allows us to search and commemorate those soldiers, partisans, who participated in the Belgian Resistance," the Kazakh diplomat said.
