In a meeting with an Iranian parliamentary delegation visiting London, Bercow said he would like to see development of relations in political and economic fields.

Meanwhile, Head of Iran's delegation Abbasali Mansoori Arani referred to some problems in bilateral ties and said London should move in the direction of removing obstacles and making confidence.

Stressing that terrorism is a real threat to the world security, Mansoori said the West should abandon theatrical measures and really struggle against terrorism.

An Iranian parliamentary delegation consisting of five MPs arrived in London on Sunday.

A British parliamentary delegation headed by Labour Party MP Jack Straw visited Iran in January 2014.

Britain and Iran downgraded their relations to the lowest level in autumn 2011, following the UK support for sanctions against Tehran that led to a vote by a large majority of Iranian MPs to downgrade diplomatic ties with Britain.

Later, a group of Iranian students stormed the British Embassy in Tehran and Britain withdrew its diplomatic staff from the country on November 30, 2011 and asked Iran's diplomatic delegation in London to leave within 48 hours.

Iran and Britain agreed in October last year to appoint non-resident chargé d'affaires as a first step toward reopening their respective embassies, Kazinform refers to IRNA.
