Boxer Gennady Golovkin becomes honorary citizen of Karaganda

"For outstanding service and contribution to the development of sports in Karaganda and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the title of "Honorary Citizen of the city of Karaganda has been awarded to Gennady Golovkin" the decision reads.

In addition, the list of honorary citizens of Karaganda joined the Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Koketai Temіrgali, and the honored coach of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic in boxing Kazbek Ashlyaev.

"Nominations, submitted by akim of Karaganda, were discussed at the meeting of the standing committee on human rights, the rule of law, ethics, awards, names and renaming", has been noted at the session.

According to the rules on awarding the title of "Honorary Citizen of Karaganda" from the number of applicants each year on the eve of the Day of the Constitution no more than three candidates get confirmed.
