Bordyuzha views cooperation in emergencies prevention as priority for CSTO

MINSK. August 16. KAZINFORM Cooperation in prevention and mitigation of emergencies should become a priority in the CSTO, Nikolai Bordyuzha, CSTO Secretary General told media in Minsk following the fifth meeting of the CSTO Coordination Council on Emergencies, according to BelTA.

"The issues regarding emergency response and mitigation should make a priority in the CSTO. In December we will submit the relevant proposals to the Presidents," Nikolai Bordyuzha said. In his words, the participants of the meeting discussed the progress made in implementation of the CSTO main goals in emergencies prevention.
Emergencies Minister of Belarus Vladimir Vashchenko stated that those attended reached an agreement to conduct joint exercises. It is expected they will take place at the training fields in Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus.
