Boat carrying 97 passengers capsizes off western Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR. KAZINFORM A wooden boat carrying 97 foreigners capsized about two nautical miles near Sungai Air Hitam off the western coast of Malaysia, local media reported Wednesday.
The Banting Fire and Rescue department received the distress call at about 0:24 a.m. Wednesday, and the search and rescue team got to the scene 30 minutes later, The Star reported.
Thirty-one people had been rescued by the search and rescue team, while the others were still missing, Xinhua reports. The search operation was still going on and the fire fighters were monitoring the coastline.
