BMW recalls at least 200,000 vehicles due to brake problems
A spokesman for BMW said in Munich that BMW is to recall 198,000 vehicles in the United States after a potential danger were found that might cause a leak in the power braking system.
The spokesman said a total of 345,000 vehicles, including 11,400 in Britain, may be affected by the problem worldwide, and the company is considering whether vehicles in Germany and other countries need to be recalled.
The recall involves BMW 5, 6 and 7 Seriesequipped with V8 and V12 engines and and certain types of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, which involves around 1,200.
BWM said till now no reports of accidents or injuries were received and owners of related cars produced since 2002 would be notified by mail of the recall in coming weeks.
