'Bike for Peace' leader proposed to nominate Nursultan Nazarbayev for Nobel Peace Prize

ASTANA. August 4. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Leader of Norwegian non-governmental organization 'Bike for Peace' Tore Naerland proposes to plans to nominate Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the Nobel Peace Prize, he made it public at the press conference in Astana today.
'I strongly believe that the President of Kazakhstan deserves to receive the Nobel Peace Prize,' T. Naerland said.
Mr. Naerland sent letters to parliamentarians of Norway and the USA for promotion of his proposal. 'People should know more about Kazakhstan's struggle for world peace,' he emphasized.
'The activity of Kazakhstan in the sphere of nuclear disarmament is hard to overestimate. I cannot nominate anybody for a Nobel Prize but politicians and parliamentarians can do it,' T. Naerland added.
Mr. Naerland will participate in the bicycle ride in Kazakhstan en route 'Semey-Almaty-Astana' on August 6 through 29.
