Berik Uali named governor of Abai region
The press service of Akorda has informed in its statement, Kazinform News Agency reports.
By presidential decree, Berik Uali has been named the governor of Abai region; he has been relieved of his previous position, reads the statement.
Starting out as a reporter for the Novosti Almaty news program on Tan TV channel in 1997, Uali rose up the ranks to the head of the press service – deputy chief of staff of the governor of South Kazakhstan region, the head of the domestic policy and religious affairs department.
In the space of a year from 2015 to 2016, he served as an advisor to the first deputy chairman of Nur Otan party.
In 2019/22, Uali acted as the Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. After that he was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Khabar Agency jsc.
On September 12, 2023, he was designated as an advisor to the President of Kazakhstan – Press Secretary of the President.
Berik Uali replaced Nurlan Urankhayev, who has been the governor of Abai region since December 2022.
