Belarusian Railways, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy to discuss cooperation
Belarusian Railways is taking part in BelarusExpo 2013 held in Astana on 5 to 8 June.
Belarusian Railways is presenting the transport and logistics capabilities in the East-West-East transportation corridor. During the exhibition a set of negotiations with manufacturers will be held on the use of railways for export and import operations.
An official forwarding agent of Belarusian Railways, the BELINTERTRANS transport and logistics center (BTLC), will present its capabilities, too. Specialists of the Belarusian Railways and the BTLC will hold joint meetings with leading forwarding agents and operators of Kazakhstan. They are set to discuss the issues of the organization of joint freight.
"Such exhibitions are of great importance for Belarusian Railways as the company can demonstrate cargo owners its capabilities and strengthen Belarus' positions in the Eurasian cargo freight market," specialists of the company underlined, BelTA reports.
The press service noted that Belarus cooperates with the Kazakh partners within the framework of the container train freight projects. These projects are Mongolia Vector, Kazakhstan Vector, China-Germany, BMW, Saule and Shkoda. In January-April 2013 the Kazakhstan Vector train service transported 850 twenty-foot container equivalent units (TEUs), up 28.4% as against the same period last year. The China-Germany train transported 692 TEUs during the same period, up almost 2.9 times as against the same period last year. In January-April 2013 nearly 400 TEUs were transported by the Saule train, up 2.2 times as against the same period last year.
