Belarusian, Kazakh national banks agree on cooperation in IT
The agreement was concluded at the recent conference on banking information technologies in Almaty.
Representatives of national banks of the two countries said, they have established partnership relations in information technologies and are eager to sign relevant agreements in the near future.
The meeting also focused on the strategic partnership between the Belarusian Infopark scientific and technical association and the Kazakh association of IT companies. Particularly, the Kazakh company will set up a structural body similar to the Belarusian committee on information technologies in the financial industry. "Long-term cooperation between the national banks and IT associations of Belarus and Kazakhstan should serve as an example for businessmen of the two countries. Private banks and IT companies have already expressed eagerness to cooperate," according to the Infopark.
At the conference representatives of banks, IT companies, state authorities exchanged experience and defined cooperation priorities. High on the agenda were the cooperation between Belarusian and Kazakh specialists at the level of state bodies and associations, market operators. "The participants have discussed peculiarities of financial and credit industry and IT industry of both countries. Belarusian software producers outrun their Kazakh counterparts, satisfying the demand on the local market and promoting export. The experience of Belarus in this area may be useful for Kazakhstan," according to the association. Kazakh banking system's achievements, in turn, are interesting for Belarus. The formation of the single calculation and information space to unite banking and financial structures of the two countries, especially in the Customs Union, is important for both countries. Belarus has made considerable progress in the formation of the banking and information system and is ready to help counterparts set up similar organizations.
The conference in Almaty was the preparation to the international forum on banking technologies "BankIT-2011" which will take place in Minsk on 16-17 November; Kazinform cites BelTA.
