Belarusian-Kazakh joint venture to make more rock haulers

MINSK. April 10. KAZINFORM Set up to assemble Belarusian rock haulers, the Belarusian-Kazakh joint venture KazBelAZ will raise the output. Future development of the company based in Karaganda, Kazakhstan was discussed at the meeting of Belarusian Industry Minister Dmitry Katerinich and Karaganda Oblast Governor Baurzhan Abdishev on 9 April, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA.

The sides discussed the development of the enterprise, which assembles rock haulers with the payload capacity of 30-45 tonnes and 55 tonnes. The joint venture was set up last year in association with the large company Kazakhmys. The project will allow BelAZ to secure a foothold on the Kazakh market where competition is tough.

The 9 April meeting in the Industry Ministry also tabled ways to advance cooperation with other production sector enterprises. The delivery of engines made by OAO Minsk Motor Plant and spare parts for them to be sold on the secondary market was discussed. There are plans to refit trucks ZIZ-130/131, GAZ-69, GAZ-66, YMZ tractors, other special vehicles to use Minsk-made engines.

OAO MAZ is ready to take part in renewing the bus fleet of Karaganda. Plans have been sketched out to expand cooperation in delivering modern high-performance grain and forage harvesters to Karaganda Oblast. The service network for MTZ vehicles will be expanded. OAO Mogilevliftmash intends to take part in Karaganda Oblast's housing construction programs.

The trade turnover between enterprises of the Belarusian Industry Ministry and Kazakhstan totaled $258.7 million in 2012. In 2012 the export by Belarusian industrial enterprises to Kazakhstan reached $255.3 million. Merchandise made by the Belarusian companies MTZ, MAZ, Gomselmash, BelAZ, Atlant, Mogilevliftmash, and other industry Ministry enterprises was shipped to Kazakhstan, BelTA reports.

While in Belarus the guests from Karaganda also intend to visit the companies BelAZ, Amkodor, OAO MZOR for negotiations to expand cooperation.
