Belarusian Agricultural Company set up in Kazakhstan
The company has been founded by sugar companies of the concern, sugar plants in Zhabinka, Slutsk Gorodeya, and Skidel. The companies own equal stakes in the company statutory fund.
"The company is one of the facilities of Belgospishcheprom's commodity distribution network. It has been set up to pursue a single price policy, while selling sugar abroad, increase export of goods to Kazakhstan and fulfill the tasks set by the government. The company will operate according to the concern strategy for 2010-2015. The concern aims to reach a $220-million foreign trade surplus by 2015," said the spokesperson for the concern.
In 2010 the organizations of the concern exported $538.3 million worth of goods (including $368.9 million worth of sugar). The ratio of sugar in the overall volume of export totaled 63%. Some 62,400 tonnes of sugar to the total of $47 million were shipped to Kazakhstan last year (up 62.4% over 2009). About 70,000 tonnes of sugar are planned to be exported to Kazakhstan in 2011.
Apart from Belarusian Agricultural Company in Kazakhstan, the concern has already set up four commodity distributing facilities abroad. They are Belarusian Sugar Company (Moscow), Belarusian Agricultural Company in Kyiv, Belarusian Sugar Company in Bishkek, and Belarusian-Georgian Agricultural Company in Tbilisi, Kazinform refers to BelTA.
