Belarus to keep working on CIS image on international arena

Igor Petrishenko assured that Belarus will work hard to strengthen peace and friendly ties in the Commonwealth. "We will also work to boost border and interregional cooperation, expand information space, promote intercultural and interethnic ties between scientists and artists, veteran and youth organizations, and contacts in sport and tourism. We will do our utmost to expand the dialogue of cultures in the CIS," the diplomat said.
The participants of the session discussed radio navigation development in the CIS in 2013-2017 and provisions regulating the interstate research and information system "Radio Navigation". They also discussed advertising market in the Commonwealth, projections for the production, consumption, import and exports of most important commodities of the CIS in 2013. The participants of the session heard out a report on the state of efforts to develop national data bases and to establish exchange of information on intellectual property rights violations, convention of border cooperation of the CIS states. The parties also discussed a draft agreement on the status of the CIS Economic Court and some financial documents. The draft documents will be submitted to the CIS Economic Council that will hold a regular session on 15 March.
Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev informed the attendees about the results of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the CIS that discussed the concept of Belarus' chairmanship in the CIS in 2013 and the action plan to implement it. "I have no doubt that these meaningful documents will be materialized, which will contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation between the CIS member states," Sergei Lebedev said.
