The event of this level is held in Belarus for the first time. "The choice of parties invited for the conference is conditioned by various factors. First of all, we wanted to study the experience of preventing ethnic terrorism in multi-national states. Therefore, we invited specialists from Indonesia, Nigeria, Russia, the United States and other countries. Apart from that, we pay much attention to such issues as the non-violent resolution of political and social conflicts. This issue will be also discussed at the forum," according to the press service of the State Security Committee.

The agenda of the conference includes such issues as the promotion of peace and accord, dialogue between cultures, nations and religious denominations, topical issues of cooperation between the state and the business community in combating terrorism, improvement of methods and means of protection against terrorism. Partaking in the forum will be representatives of the CSTO Secretariat, the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center, specialized bodies of the OSCE, public bodies and other organizations of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, China, Belgium, France and other states, foreign diplomatic missions.

Participants of the conference will discuss interaction between anti-terrorism bodies and the business community. "Not all the issues in this field can be solved at the expense of the state and budget. A lot of decisions of law enforcement bodies in ensuring security in transport, trade, energy sector are made in the best interests of the organizations which operate these objects," the representative of the State Security Committee said. "Representatives of the banking sector will take part in the forum because the conference will focus on the prevention of financial terrorism. This issue is important due to the adoption of the new version of Belarus' law "Concerning measures to prevent the legalization of incomes obtained by criminal means, financing of terrorism and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction." We are currently working out mechanisms for the implementation of this law."

According to the State Security Committee, the Council of Ministers will soon finalize the preparation of the draft resolution regarding the list of people involved in terrorism, in relation to whom relevant bodies will apply measures to prevent financial terrorism.

The main objective of the conference is to join efforts to prevent violent manifestations of extremism, the press release of the press service reads.
