Belarus ready to ship more meat, dairy products to Kazakhstan
Leonid Zayats and Nuraly Saduakasov shared information about the current state and prospects of developing the agribusiness industries of Belarus and Kostanay Oblast. "The Minister remarked that trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan in agribusiness develops rapidly and there are prerequisites to believe that it will be expanded further. If Kazakh customers are interested, Belarus can supply more meat and dairy products as well as other agricultural products to Kazakhstan, including to Kostanay Oblast. Cooperation in artificial selection and seed farming, animal husbandry, agriculture mechanization can be other promising avenues of cooperation," said the source.
Leonid Zayats said that the Belarusian side was ready to set up joint processing enterprises in Kazakhstan for the sake of exporting their make to third countries. Nuraly Saduakasov confirmed the interest in setting up export-oriented enterprises in the oblast that will manufacture products with an advanced degree of processing. He also mentioned the strong interest in studying the Belarusian experience of animal husbandry and the development of the social sphere in the countryside, Kazinform has learnt from BelTA.
The Kazakh delegation plans to get more familiar with the technologies, equipment used in Belarus as well as projects, which are being implemented, by visiting several agricultural enterprises. During the talks the Kostanay Oblast Governor suggested tighter cooperation with an oblast of Belarus in the future for the sake of sharing the best practices regularly, said the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Kazakhstan is a leading partner of the organizations run by the Agriculture and Food Ministry in trade and economic cooperation among the CIS states, ranking 2nd after Russia in the import of Belarusian agricultural products and the products made by processing agricultural ones. In 2012 organizations of the Ministry sold $109.2 million worth of merchandise to Kazakhstan. The main exports were milk and dairy products, cattle meat, and poultry eggs.
