Belarus President Lukashenko: We have consciously come to signing the EAEU agreement

"We defended out interests respecting the partners' position. We analyzed the documents and marked its positive sides", said Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in the narrow format. At the same time, the head of Belarus noted that the countries "are still able to make the arrangements better and mutually beneficial to all the parties of the treaty". "We established the Eurasian Economic Community, the Customs Union, outlined the contours of the Common Economic Space. Today we have reached the finish line which led us to the Eurasian Economic Union. We felt the need to restore economic ties existed in the times of the Soviet Union. We were preparing for the establishment of the Union taking into account the interest of every state. Moreover, we tried to create a system where we would not compete but complement each other", said Alexander Lukashenko.
