Belarus plans to raise goods turnover with Kazakhstan up to USD 1 mln in 2011

ASTANA. January 24. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ Belarus plans to raise goods turnover with Kazakhstan up to USD 1 bln in 2011, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to our country Valery Brylev told in an interview to Kazinform Agency.

"Last year our trade-economic relations were not bad and I hope that in 2011 they will be good. By preliminary data, in January-November 2010 the goods turnover between our states made USD 750 mln. Therefore, we plan to raise this figure up to USD 800 mln. I am confident that in 2011 the goods turnover between the countries will hit USD 1 bln", V. Brylev said.

According to the Belarusian side, in January-November 2010 the commodity turnover made USD 596.8 mln that is 2.1 times more than in the previous year. Alongside, export of Belarusian products to Kazakhstan made USD 357.6 mln and rose by 51.8% while import from Kazakhstan made USD 239.2 mln and rose by 4.6 times.

Belarus exports sugar, tires, milk and dairy products, furniture, medicaments, refrigerators, spare parts for cars and tractors, and special transport vehicles to Kazakhstan.

Import of Kazakhstan's products to Belarus made USD 239.2 mln in 2010 that is 4.6 times more compared to 2009. Kazakhstan imports mainly ferrous metals, oil products, raw aluminum, bearings, salts of phosphoric acid, lead oxide.
