"Last year the mutual trade turnover was close to $950 million. Since this year our mutual trade is on the rise, I strongly hope that it will at last exceed $1 billion," said the diplomat.

The Ambassador mentioned the important role played by the Belarusian-Kazakh intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation. A regular session of the commission is being prepared. Participants of the session are expected to discuss a number of matters, including ways to increase the trade turnover. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan said that relations with Belarus were positive on the whole. "There are absolutely no problems in the bilateral relations. All the issues that emerge are dealt with via negotiations. Not a single issue has been left unresolved," stated Ergaly Bolegenov.

The intensity of contacts between Belarus and Kazakhstan rises all the time. The diplomat attributed the vigorous development of relations between the two countries largely to the trustful and good relations between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Belarus, BelTA reports.

"I am glad that such relations between our countries have evolved," remarked Yergali Bulegenov.
