Belarus intends to attract $2bn loan from EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund

MINSK. February 17. KAZINFORM Belarus intends to attract a $2 billion loan from the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas said when speaking in the House of Representatives, BelTA has learnt.

According to Sergei Rumas, Belarus has already filed an application. Now it is being considered by the fund. "Today we are working with our colleagues, discussing our application," said the Deputy Prime Minister. He added that Belarus is interested in a long-term loan. The country will not borrow short-term money, said Sergei Rumas.

For his part, Finance Minister of Belarus Andrei Kharkovets noted that the issue is still being discussed at the level of experts. Therefore, it is too early to speak about the sum of borrowing. The Finance Minister also said that the Belarusian side expects the first comments on the loan from the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund in March; Kazinform refers to BelTA.
