Belarus' customs to open green corridors for Customs Union citizens

Following a decision of the Commission of the Customs Union Belarus conducted an experiment and allocated corridors for citizens of the Customs Union. "Crossing points that operate a system of green and red corridors have allocated separate corridors for citizens of the Customs Union," explained Vladimir Orlovsky. Now this is not an experiment. This is a regular practice of the customs authorities of Belarus. "It will be adopted across other border crossing points that operate a system of green and red corridors," Vladimir Orlovsky said. Today Warsaw bridge, Kamenny log, Bruzgi, and Berestovitsa operate green corridors for citizens of the Customs Union.
The customs bodies of Belarus also took note of small-scale border traffic. The agreement on local border traffic with Latvia has already come into force. The countries will start issuing documents in February, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Sergei Borisyuk told media. "We are ready to put the agreements with the neighboring countries into practice," he noted. The work is underway to formalize the similar agreements with Lithuania and Poland.
The Belarusian official also presented the latest figures on fuel exports. Now, the national customs bodies receive 100-150 declarations on fuel export by individuals a week. The highest number of declarations is registered in Brest Oblast.
