Beijing Kazakhs mark Constitution Day
Thus, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in China held a reception. Ambasador Ikram Adyrbekov congratulated the attendees and noted that voting for the new Constitution on August 30, 1995 the people of Kazakhstan had confirmed its strategic choice for many years - for freedom, prosperity and democracy. Due to the Constitution and guidance of President Nursultan Nazarbayev Kazakhstan has succeeded in building its new statehood. A firm basis of market economy was established; human rights and freedoms are observed; the country enjoys peace, inter-ethnic and inter-faith harmony and the Kazakhs of the whole world are proud of its Motherland, the Ambassador said.
Speaking on the role of the Constitution in the country's development, I. Adyrbekov stressed its influence on maintaining public consent and political stability.
The Head of the Embassy highlighted that the 1995 Constitution amended on May 2007 helped Kazakhstan people overcome difficulties of the political, economic and social changes. Kazakhstan's achievements in strengthening democracy, establishment of efficient legal system, economic development are recognized by the world community. And Kazakhstan's oncoming chairmanship in the OSCE sets the best pattern of it. We need the experience gained over these years both for solution of internal tasks and search for efficient responses to the challenges of modernity, the Ambassador resumed.
Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Bolat Nurgaliyev, diplomats, Kazakh businessmen and students studying in the Beijing universities made reports on the role of the Constitution in formation and development of the independent Kazakhstan.
An indoor-football tournament with the participation of the Kazakh diplomats, employees of the SCO Secretariat, reps of business and students is scheduled for tomorrow.
