Barack Obama congratulates Nursultan Nazarbayev, people of Kazakhstan on Independence Day
"On behalf of all Americans, let me warmly offer you and the people of Kazakhstan our sincere congratulations as you celebrate your independence on December 16.
Let me also thank you for the outstanding leadership that Kazakhstan continues to exercise in promoting peace and prosperity among nations. Your contributions to forging economic and people-to-people ties across the region, and continued devotion to non-proliferation are much appreciated. The United States is committed to the further enhancement of our partnership and looks forward to working together on challenges to humanity, be they climate change, disease, or terrorism. Twenty-three years have passed since your people asserted their liberty and your nation restored its autonomy. Now, as then, the United States maintains an unwavering commitment to supporting the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the nation of Kazakhstan," the congratulatory message reads.
