Bank of Mongolia purchased 1.2 tons of precious metals in January
The Bank of Mongolia purchased 1,236.5 kilograms of precious metals in January 2025, which is an increase of 21.9 percent compared to the same period last year, MONTSAME reports.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Darkhan-Uul branch of the Bank of Mongolia has purchased 26.3 kilograms of precious metals, while the Bayankhongor branch has bought 175.8 kilograms.
The price of precious metals is determined by the global market. Last month, the average price per gram of gold was MNT 297,634.43, as reported by the Bank of Mongolia.
It was earlier reported, during its regular session on January 29, 2025, the Cabinet of Mongolia decided to prepare 10,000 tons of reserved meat for consumption of Ulaanbaatar city in the spring of 2025 and supply it to the market starting from March 20 of this year.
